update on Lucilles Face

So,
we got the Ct Scan results back.
She has a fracture underneath her skull. in the orb of her eye.
apparently the skull has layers. and for babies, the underneath
layers are softer than the top.

the hematoma that formed because of the fracture is what
caused her eye to droop. we are praying that it resolves itself.
today is the first day that she is showing signs that it might be
getting better. i attribute that to much prayer and concern of
all of our families.
her eye is still bruised , and still not in its orb.
but we have found ( who we think) are really competent doctors
and surgeons.
we are hoping and praying that the bone thing will not really be an
issue. her eye brow bone is a little smashed in. she could grow,
and that might not be an issue. if it is, we are going to have to get her
plastic surgery. if there is nothing but the eye issue, we will just have
our pediatric opthamologist operate, they just go through the eyelid
and dont have to cut.
i know, its a bit morbid explaining all this ---sorry.
thanks for all your kind thoughts and prayers.
we know she will get better. she is such a sweet little baby.
she has had minimal complaining and fussiness.

I'm so glad to hear that it sounds like you're getting the care she needs and she's not in pain! She is so sweet. And I cANNOT believe you are having to go through all this! How crappy. WE'll continue to keep Baby L in our prayers.

I am so sorry that little Lucille is going through this. I hope and pray that she will heal and everything will be okay. Babies are so fragile...but the body is amazing on how it can heal itself. keep us updated.

Thanks so much for the quick update. I am still so worried about the little jewel. Hopefully she is feeling minimal pain, I would hate to think she has to feel any. Little babys are amazing what they can endure. Love you guys...

I am so sorry that this happened to little Lucille. The one thing I know from my limited experience as a mom is that baby's are the most resilient
creatures on the planet. I am sure she will be okay. We will keep your family in our thoughts and prayers.

I'm so glad you got answers and now have a plan of action! So scary when it's your tiny baby. Heather was hospitalized for the first time when she was 5 weeks old and it was soooo scary! You have lots of experience advocating for your children...they are lucky to have you for their mom!

Babies are amazingly resilient. I bet she will never have any sign of her mishap. My brother Chad had is face ran over by our 4 wheel drive suburban when he was 4 years old. He had to have his whole face peeled off, so they could repair his cheek and orbital bones with metal plates.
I know little Lucille will look as perfect as she did.

I'm amazed by you. We'll keep praying for Lucy to have a complete and total recovery. Much much love, Steph

K- I feel bad replying to your comment on this particular post....my heart always hurts so bad when I hear about little kids hurting. And you've definitely seen your fair share...just know that alot of people are thinking of you and your family and are praying hard for a full recovery for little Lucille.

To answer your comment- Brian uses a Nikon D80 and has a couple different lenses, but most of the pics are taken with a 50 mm. He also tweaks them a bit on Photoshop and makes them big by using Photobucket. Photoshop is amazing though- you can turn ordinary pictures into something incredible. I know Jason is very artistic so he'll probably be great at taking pictures (and having an eye for it) right off the bat. Brian is also extremely artistic and can see a pictures in his mind before he takes them- lighting is key as well. The best time to take pictures is with morning light and when the sun is starting to go down at night (around 6:30 pm). Hope that helps...let us know if you need anything else.
