This is Ruby Before her eye surgery.
She got eye surgery ( we had been waiting for this for a long time). she was a superstar and very brave.
she actually wanted eye surgery because she was sick of wearing and eye patch.
hopefully the result of this surgery will be that she does not have to wear it any more.
She went in for Eye surgery because they were correcting her Lazy eye that is a result from
her Chemo therapy. she got an infection in her eye when she was immune comprimised. it attacked her retina and
resulted in retina damage. it made her have a lazy eye because she had vision loss.
we had been waiting for this day for a long time. she has had to be very dilligent in wearing her eye patch.
its been really hard, but hopefully she will be done with the eye patch if her eyes can start tracking together now that the
muscle is moved.
pretty ironic that Lucille has some eye issues right around the time that ruby is getting her surgery.
at least our eye doctor appointments can be conjoined.

Thanks for the update. That Ruby is a strong girl. We have a little 8 year old that also wears an eye patch and has had that corrective surgery and it has worked!
How is Lucille's eye healing?
Melissa, that is cool about your little one. and the success of the eye surgery. its kinda painful for them isnt it? i hope this works. Ruby said after it happened and she was in pain, "MOM---WHY did i have to have CANCER!!!!" she was kinda mad.
and i didnt know what to say about her having to suffer. but i know that for some reason, her mission on this earth cannot be completed with out her having to go through these types of things.
Sorry Freddie, and Haydee and Rebecca M. the post was short because i accidentally pushed return and it posted when i was in the middle of writing it. i got tied up with other stuff and didnt post it immediately. it was kinda funny that three different people wrote on there before i even had a chance to write it!
So I just read this after posting my Q about her eye surgery. I will be so happy for Ruby if she doesn't have to hassle with the eye patch. What a sweet girl....my ella won't even let me put a hat on. :) Let us know the result!
I'm all teary eyed after reading what Ruby had to say. It's so hard to understand why these precious children have to suffer. So sad. I hope she will heals quickly, I remember seeing her right after one of her rounds of being in the hospital, she is an amazing little girl. Hugs Ruby, when it comes to being brave you're leaps and bounds ahead of me.
